Cycle Routes and Bike Trails

Cycling along the Oglio River means discovering Camonica Valley and the whole of Lombardy from a unique, leisurely and immersive perspective. The Oglio Cycle Route is a cycling and walking trail stretching approximately 280 km, recognised in 2019 as one of the most beautiful cycle routes in Italy. It connects Passo del Tonale with the banks of the River Po, crossing mountains, historic villages, countryside and lakes.

Along the section that passes through Camonica Valley, the cycle path follows the natural course of the Oglio River, winding through Alpine landscapes, valley floors and riverside environments. Much of the route runs along dedicated, protected paths, making it easily accessible even to less experienced cyclists. Along the way, visitors can discover historical landmarks, scenic natural spots and charming traditional villages, offering a sustainable way to explore the area on two wheels.

To make the experience even more enjoyable, e-bike rental points, assistance services and well-equipped rest areas are available along the cycle route in Camonica Valley and the surrounding areas. Electric bicycles allow visitors to enjoy the entire route at a comfortable pace, making it suitable for everyone — families, cycle tourists and visitors looking for adventure or a romantic outdoor excursion.

Cycling along its banks means travelling at a leisurely pace through terraced landscapes, cool riverside woodlands and charming villages, with the opportunity to take convenient detours to rock art parks and historic sites throughout the area.

With well-equipped rest areas and connections to the local railway line, the Oglio Cycle Route is the ideal way to discover the authentic and sustainable spirit of the valley, combining outdoor activities with the pleasure of travelling and exploring the area.

MTB, gravel e road bike

The Middle Camonica Valley is not only a must-visit destination for cycling enthusiasts who enjoy dedicated cycle paths, but also a true paradise for mountain biking, gravel riding and road cycling enthusiasts. Thanks to its diverse landscapes and varied elevation changes, every cyclist can find the perfect route for an immersive experience surrounded by nature and history.

For those who love off-road adventures, mountain biking and gravel cycling are the perfect ways to explore routes through the woods and unpaved trails winding along mountain slopes, offering rides of varying difficulty to suit every fitness level. Cycling among the trees allows you to discover hidden corners and breathtaking views, combining sport with direct contact with the Alpine environment. A must-do ride is the climb towards Val Paghera in Ceto.

Those who prefer paved roads and road cycling will find exciting routes full of charm. Among the most iconic rides are the climb connecting Capo di Ponte to Paspardo, Cimbergo and Ceto along the Circuito della Riserva, and the challenging route from Capo di Ponte towards Passo Vivione and Val di Scalve, returning via Darfo Boario Terme.

Another highlight is exploring Valsaviore, tackling the climb starting from Berzo Demo and enjoying the descent through the picturesque villages of Fresine and Andrista.
