Fishing in the Oglio River

The entire Oglio River basin is an extraordinary network of tributaries, mountain streams, and high-altitude alpine lakes. Surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes, anglers can enjoy an authentic experience immersed in pristine, crystal-clear waters, testing their skills against the local fish species while savouring the tranquillity that characterises alpine environments.

Mountain waters provide an ideal habitat for valuable fish populations, particularly  brown trout  and Arctic char. The area caters to every angler’s needs, offering several Catch and Release (No Kill) zones — also found in Ceto-Cerveno — ideal for fly fishing and lure fishing.

Planning a day of fishing is easy: recreational fishing in inland waters only requires a Type B fishing licence, which can be obtained by paying the regional fee online. The payment receipt must be presented together with a valid identity document. Special provisions are available for minors, people over 65, and individuals with disabilities
